I ...I don't have a problem with re-gifting either. I just try to make sure I don't re-gift to the person that gave it to me. Otherwise, if someone is going to get use out of it, why not :)Glennahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17107558482848466735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4736064210982210465.post-43737878613862307422008-11-20T07:29:00.000-06:002008-11-20T07:29:00.000-06:00My father in law is the world's best at re-gifting...My father in law is the world's best at re-gifting. Each Christmas for the past 5 years or so, we have wondered aloud what "heirloom" we would find under the tree from him.

I have observed that when you are 88 you can get by with a lot of things and people just chalk it up to the "cuteness factor." I hope I am cute some day, too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4736064210982210465.post-53259559134569510622008-11-20T06:23:00.000-06:002008-11-20T06:23:00.000-06:00I regifted but I had already used the fry pan for ...I regifted but I had already used the fry pan for 3 years - is this OK in America?Mark (under construction)https://www.blogger.com/profile/12409495851983178265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4736064210982210465.post-8768646301403050222008-11-19T15:39:00.000-06:002008-11-19T15:39:00.000-06:00The only time I have re-gifted was when it was a r...The only time I have re-gifted was when it was a random grab gift and the person receiving it was someone I did not know. I realize that if the gift is still brand new and never been used, it's absolutely fine to give away to someone that could really use it. But their is this irrational guilty feeling involved for me.Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13119045001431543471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4736064210982210465.post-46484626295761603302008-11-19T07:41:00.000-06:002008-11-19T07:41:00.000-06:00I agree that it is okay if you are careful to make...I agree that it is okay if you are careful to make sure the person is not offended (if they find out). My DH and I got a very nice movie gift card from an out of town relative, but the closest theater of that 'brand' is in Atlanta, GA so we are not likely to use it. But, we have a friend who lives in New Orleans, LA and she has access to that 'brand' of theater....so we'll pass it along to her. It benefits us (not having to try to come up with some gift she'll enjoy, because we know she'll like this and use it) and it benefits her (we don't normally have a gift of this value in our budget for her). So, yes, regift with care...and personally, I am not offended...but then I also shop thrift stores and yard sales and appreciate a good bargain:)Mrs. Laura Aquila, the teacherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02690839181207961675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4736064210982210465.post-88224967203335156802008-11-19T06:15:00.000-06:002008-11-19T06:15:00.000-06:00I for one, have no problems with re-gifting. Okay, now other then that it is better to give to someone who will and can use the item, instead of letting it sit in the "closet" or where ever.
Funny I was just discussing this with my daughter, as she gave me her favorite perfume for my birthday and I can't wear it, and I will be re-gifting for Christmas..
So have fun!
JEEAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
