unknown

Have you ever been burdened with something, but you don't know exactly what? I'm not talking about the type of burden where you have too much on you all at once, but more like an uneasy feeling. That's how I've been for a couple of weeks. There have been several times when I could just literally stop and weep for no apparent reason.

There is nothing going on in my own personal life that would make me feel this way. What I mean is, we are not going through any sort of crisis - praise God! I am personally growing closer to the Lord daily, so it's not a dry, wandering-through-the-wilderness type of feeling. I just don't know what "it" is.

If you've ever gone through a period like this, I'd like to hear about it. Scripture is encouraged!

Christy sounds like God is drawing your attention to something. Either that or you are having some kind of hormonal imbalance!

Do you sense that it is spiritual and not physiological?

Have you asked God to reveal the meaning?

Have you asked others to pray for revelation about it?

I'll pray about it for you if you like.

Ruth,
At first I thought it was hormonal, but that week has come and gone ;0) and I still have this heavy feeling.

I have been asking God to please reveal what needs to be revealed and to help me know what, if anything, I need to do.

I have shared this with my husband and a close friend, who I'm sure will pray about it. I would greatly appreciate your prayers as well. Thanks!

Christy I asked the Lord last night about this burden you're experiencing. He gave me something really cool! However, it's yours to weigh up in your spirit and compare with whatever else the Lord is showing you. You will know if it resonates.

I got a picture of a steam engine that is on a journey but just sitting because it has come to the end of the tracks (which just end abrutly). The steam engine wants to go further but as far as it knows it can't go anywhere without the tracks. So it's in a bit of a conundrum.

Of course, the steam engine represents you. It seems that God is taking your tracks away and wants you to trust him, follow him, recognize him, etc. in new ways. He doesn't want you to rely on what you know and feel secure with. He's stretching you.

Perhaps this burden is the internal stuggle within yourself relating to this. Maybe you already have an inkling that this is comming and internally you feel like you are between a rock and a hard place because you know you're at the end of the tracks and there is much much more but you don't know how to go forward.

The scripture that came to mind is Luke 5:37-39 about new wine skins. Particularily the NLT version verse 39. This scripture illustrates our tendancy to rely on what we know rather than trying the new.

37 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. 38 New wine must be stored in new wineskins. 39 But no one who drinks the old wine seems to want the new wine. ‘The old is just fine,’ they say.”

I think the Lord has an exciting journey ahead for you Christy! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Thank you for that, Ruth.

Today during my quiet time I read this verse in 1 Corinthians 4:5 "Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. HE WILL BRING TO LIGHT WHAT IS HIDDEN IN DARKNESS AND WILL EXPOSE THE MOTIVES OF MEN'S HEARTS. At that time each will receive his praise from God."

This, like the picture you described, was a reminder to me to wait on God and trust in Him to reveal what needs to be revealed.

The verses you shared interest me a great deal. I am going to meditate on them, along with a few other verses, pray and wait!

I appreciate you taking the time to pray with/for me. It means a great deal. Thanks!

My pleasure Christy! I meet with a group of ladies regularily and we pray for each other this way. We're always so amazed and blessed when the Lord gives us meaningful revelation.

Thank you for the opportunity to practice with you. I was delighted that the Lord gave me such a specific answer.
